Gordon B. Logan, Founder and CEO
In the early '90s, Gordon recognized the huge potential, and relative lack of competition, in the men's and boy's haircut market. To take advantage of it, he assembled a top management team and developed the unique Sport Clips concept, which included groundbreaking new haircutting systems, operating procedures and marketing programs, all designed to fully capitalize on this large, underserved market. With many years of franchising experience, Gordon was able to design the concept and get it up and running within a remarkably short time, and Sport Clips' rapid, yet controlled growth, has been a textbook example of how to do things right.
Prior to founding Sport Clips in 1995, Gordon owned and operated salons throughout Texas, served on the Board of Directors of Command Performance Styling Salons as a franchisee-elected representative from 1982-1986; President and Executive Director of the Command Performance Franchisees' Association from 1986-1991; President of Performance Salon Systems, Inc. (PSS), and as a franchisor of the Command Performance system; is presently a Director and Vice President of the International Chain Salon Association; VP and Director of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce; Director of the Georgetown Industrial Foundation; and, he serves on the Foundation Board of the Lone Star Circle of Care.
Prior to becoming a salon owner, Gordon served as an Aircraft Commander in the U.S. Air Force (1969-1976), after which he worked as a financial planning and control consultant with Price Waterhouse & Co. in Houston, Texas (1976 - 1980). He is a graduate of MIT (BS, '68), and The Wharton School of Business, at the University of Pennsylvania (MBA with Honors, '76). He is also a CPA in the State of Texas.
